The Polework Patterns App by Fancy Footwork Equestrian offers a comprehensive resource for equestrians seeking innovative and engaging polework exercises. Designed with versatility in mind, the app features 40 distinct layouts—comprising 20 structured main patterns and 20 random configurations. These layouts are multi-directional and adaptable to use between one and twenty poles, facilitating a wide range of training scenarios.

Key functionalities enhance its utility, including a search feature to filter layouts based on the number of poles, segmented into categories such as 1–5, 6–10, 11–15, and 16–20 poles. Additionally, users can refine their search by developmental focus areas, with fifteen categories available—including Balance, Core, Engagement, Response to Rider, among others.

The app also features an intuitive random generator, allowing users to select exercises spontaneously—adding an element of surprise to training sessions. Once activated, the generator displays a layout selection accompanied by animated effects that enhance the user experience.

Each layout provides suggested exercises, with four options for main patterns and two for random configurations. These exercises are color-coded by pace and include difficulty ratings to assist riders in matching activities to their horse’s training stage. Furthermore, the app includes a library of 120 exercises, each offering four tailored suggestions targeting specific areas such as flexibility and straightness.

A “Favourites” folder allows users to save preferred exercises from the main layouts for quick reference and easy organization. Importantly, this application is available for a single purchase—no ongoing subscriptions or memberships are required—making it a cost-effective addition to any training toolkit.

Developed by Nina Gill, a qualified coach and the driving force behind Fancy Footwork Equestrian, the app reflects her dedication to polework as a method for improving horse development. Nina’s extensive experience encompasses leading clinics full-time and collaborating with prominent UK equestrian YouTubers and influencers. Her expertise has also resulted in contributions to major equine publications.

With this resource, users will find an endless supply of innovative polework ideas. Many layouts can be subdivided into smaller sections designed to serve as standalone exercises—perfect for days when fewer poles are available or when variation is desired in training routines.
